Gospel songstress Gifty Osei who recently released her latest album titled 'Jesus Be Too Much' has found herself on the silver screens as an actress.
The movie titled 'Akua Afrane' has Gifty play the role of Akua Afranie. 'Akua Afranie' was produced by Bob Films owned by a Minister of God and businessman Rev. Robert Crentsil popularly known as Rev. Bob.
It was directed by Perry King and Ronnie Atto Paintsil and has movie stars like Kofi Adjololo, Fred Amugi, Kyeiwa, Abusua, Evangelist Agness Annan who happens to be the biological mother of Gifty Osei.
Speaking to the P.R.O of Bob Films about the story line of the movie, Ronnie Atto Paintsil recounted to Flex newspaper thus: “Fred Amugi's (Akuffo Addo) daughter Gifty Osei who is known in the movie as Akua Afrane is to inherit a great fetish priestess Kyeiwaa who is to leave the ancestral world after the ordination of Gifty Osei.
On the day of Gifty's ordination, the spirit of the Almighty God comes upon her and she becomes deaf-mute. This brought a lot of trouble to the whole village. Thus King Adjololo (Afari Gyan) warns Fred Amugi to make sure the spirit upon her daughter leaves for them to use her as the priestess or else, both Fred Amugi and Gifty Osei's heads will be cut off. No one knew the cause of Gifty's deafness and dumbness, so they presumed it was an evil spirit that had entered her seeking the downfall of their village.
For Gifty Osei`s come back to her normal self to enable her take her position as the fetish priestess of the village, some rituals had to be done by sacrificing seven virgin girls.
